This is essentially our flagship store. Founded by Chris Chapman in 2009, now owned by Todd Ridge, Bondi Beach was the first The Running Company outlet and has a special place in our hearts. Located just 400m from one of the world’s most famous stretches of coastline and one of the city’s most popular running routes.
The Running Company now has seven stores across Australia, offering not only the finest choice in running shoes but expert, honest advice to runners of all levels, comprising our unique in-store gait analysis service.
The Running Company – Bondi Beach Running Club is completely FREE. It’s also a great opportunity to keep fit, meet new people, talk about running and triathlon with experienced athletes and enjoy some of the best running tracks in the world.
Every Wednesday night – 6:15pm for 6:30pm start. TRC Bondi Beach Run Club is in association with the BRATs.

We try to vary it every week but it’s usually around 10km at varying paces so it’s inclusive for people of all abilities as opposed to exclusive and only for faster runners. One of our more common runs during winter is the back end of the world famous City 2 Surf run and is approximately 9km.
Todd fostered a passion for footwear when he worked at The Athlete’s Foot in his hometown of Perth. He then moved across to Nike and managed the factory store in Western Australia before transferring to Sydney in 2000, just in time for the Olympics. Following his stint with Nike – which included running two factory stores and a sales rep role – Todd swapped running shoes for bike wheels when working for companies like Giant and Bianchi. It was through his work that Todd witnessed his first Ironman race where he was overheard saying: “These guys are riding 180km and then running a marathon, they’re freakin’ crazy”. This was a turning point in Todd’s life – he was so moved that he took up the challenge and has now completed nine Port Macquarie Ironman races.
1. Favourite run
The 14.5km Bondi to Coogee and back. The view is amazing – we take it for granted.
2. Best Running Moment
Running a 3:24 marathon at the 2014 Busselton Ironman and running with my best mate to help him achieve his goal of completing the Melbourne marathon.
3. What do you love about running?
Love the feeling of being fit and fast… most of the time! I also enjoy the competition.
